Character Name: The Tooth Fairy [Toothiana]
Fandom: Rise of the Guardians
Source: Information can be found on the Guardians Wiki but main source is the Movie, I guess?
Character History: While the movie details not much about Tooth's history, it's known that she is at least over 440 years old. The Tooth Fairy has long been a legend. When a tooth is lost, it is placed under a pillow and in the night, a fairy comes to take it away and leave a present in return for the exchange. Pitch had said that during the 'Dark Ages' when he thrived, the Man In The Moon picked the guardians [Tooth included] to help bring light, love, happiness, wonder and dreams to the children of the world.
Upon first seeing Tooth, she's located in her Palace in South East Asia. Hard at work, Tooth is commanding the loyalty of her fairies to help with her daily work of finding teeth and leaving presents.
When North sees the black sand covering the globe in the shape of Pitch Black, he hurries to call upon the other guardians with a beautiful ray of lights akin to the Northern Lights. Her fairy spots the signal and Tooth is quick to leave to the North Pole. There, she stands her ground and tells Bunny and North that she [and Sandy] didn't get the luxury of working only one night out of the year. Though they seem to reunite as if old friends only to have Sandy show them that the Man In The Moon is there to pick a new Guardian. Always the excited Guardian, Tooth voices her wonderment on who the new Guardian could be. Each of them have their ideas but once it's reveled to be Jack Frost, the tone changes. It's possibly in that moment where the idea that Tooth has a crush on Jack comes to light with her adoring smile ad dreamy eyes she was making at the figure of Jack.
When Jack appears at the pole, once more, Tooth is busy commanding her fairies to different sectors but stopped along enough to smile at Jack who seemed to relish in the rumors of his teeth. She commented on them being as white as fallen snow which probably helped along her tiny crush. North is quick to accept Jack as a guardian and though Tooth seems to agree with his decision, she's the one to tell Jack the true purpose of the Guardians and that he was chosen not by them, but by the moon. Even though the tone turned serious, Tooth is still caught with her fingers in Jack's mouth to examine his perfect teeth. She is also quick to defend Jack from Bunny's comments of not being 'believed' in. While it might be viewed from her affection stand point, it's more so because she doesn't like the idea of none of them being believed in and not being there for the children.
Trouble, however, arises when Tooth is suddenly flying away from the North Pole. Bunny informs Jack and North that there is trouble at her Palace. Upon the other's arrival, Pitch's Nightmares are there attacking the fairies. Tooth fearlessly does her best to protect them and tries to fight the horde of nightmares that capture her fairies. When Pitch finally confronts them all, Tooth's anger keeps her fidgeting and wanting revenge for her fairies.
Pitch then reveals to Jack the 'glory' of being a Guardian. Should the children stop believing in the Guardians they fade away to nothingness. It already begins to happen with children waking up and seeing that her fairies never came to give them their gifts for their teeth. Slowly, piece by piece, you see a little bit of her palace fade away. Just knowing that she let the children down takes a toll on Tooth and her heart can be seen breaking. Bunny's quick to attack and once Pitch flees and is gone, Tooth laments. She holds pride in her babies saying that they put up a fight against Pitch.
This moment is crucial to her character. Jack questions why Pitch took the teeth she collected and she explains to Jack that it is her purpose. She, and her fairies, collect the teeth to preserve the memories of childhood. She reveals that she even had his teeth with his memories which surprises her that he didn't remember a thing about his past life. While she wants to show him his life, she reminds him that Pitch has his teeth. The moment is cut short when her feathers begin to wilt and fall from her body to show that her body is growing weaker with the number of children losing their faith in her.
North comes up with the plan that THEY will collect the teeth to help regain Tooth's strength. While she questions them, she agrees and is rather happy to be back in the field. A little scatter brained, she runs in to a billboard and confessed that it has been 440 years[give or take] since she had been able to go out and collect teeth herself. It seems as if she's happiest when she's able to gather the teeth[memories] from the children. Spotting a tooth far away, she buzzes off to quickly get it which Baby Tooth even seems surprised by her bubbliness.
Tooth is there to be with Jamie and take his tooth that he had hidden under his pillow that night after he was hit by a sofa that was partially caused by Jack's fun he had with Jamie and sledding. From this, we can see that not only can she collect the memories of the teeth, but she can see in to the memories with how the tooth was lost by the child. While Jack laughs it off, Tooth is seen going softer and confessed that her favorite thing was to just watch the children sleep. She seems a little remorseful that she no longer does the collecting but the remorse fades with the arrival of the others. Happily, she informs them that she felt stronger thanks to their help.
Jamie awakens to see all of the Guardians [but Jack] and while Sandy tried to knock out Jamie, Tooth is first to get hit by one of his dream balls and falls asleep with dancing teeth above her head, indicating her dreams.
Upon waking up, Tooth and the others join Sandy and Jack who are fighting Pitch and his Nightmares. Flying at top speeds through the air, she's able to cut through the nightmares and use her wings like blades. This helps with her fighting and shows she cares deeply for her fellow Guardians. Jack soon unleashes a massive explosion on Pitch when all hope seemed lost only to get knocked out. Tooth is quick to catch him, surprised by his ability just as the others were.
Back at the North Pole, she and the others lay a candle for the fallen Guardian[Sandy] and shows her mournful expression but also tries her best to comfort the others, taking their hands with hers as the elves play their bells for a requiem. Sadly, their lament is short lived when the lights on the globe go out with Pitch's fear taking over. Bunny informs them that Easter is coming and proceeds to draw them all through a tunnel to his home. While there, they discover a presence is near by and though they thought it might of been Pitch, it turned out to be Sophie, Jamie's younger sister. Trying to distract her, Tooth shows just how long she's been out of commission when she tries to make Sophie happy by showing her teeth with blood and gums still attached. Tooth's happy about it but Sophie, not so much. Screaming, Sophie runs from her and Tooth wonders what went wrong. Jack tells them they need to get out more and spend time with children.
Helping with the Easter Eggs, she waits with the others for the eggs to make it to the tunnel to the world. Sophie falls asleep and Tooth offers to take her but Jack takes her instead. Tooth is worried that Pitch will find him but Jack reminds her that he's unseen and would be as quick as a bunny.
When Jack returns after an encounter with Pitch, he's told that Easter was destroyed and Bunny becomes invisible to the children who stop believing in him and she's quick to comfort Bunny. However, worried, she noticed that Jack had the container with his teeth. She looks around and asked Jack where Baby Tooth went, who had followed him but seeing as he had his teeth instead, she feared he betrayed them, and Baby Tooth to get his memories back. Reality being, Pitch lured Jack away long enough to invade and destroy the eggs in the Tunnel and Baby Tooth was taken as a hostage.
After a bit of soul searching and regaining his memories with Baby Tooth's help, Jack does his best to keep the spirit of the Guardians alive.
With Jamie being the last child to believe in them, the Guardians reunite with Jack and Jamie as Pitch plays out his final performance of getting rid of the last child and the Guardians. Weakened, Tooth is seen as unable to fly [along with her fairies still trapped in Pitch's lair] but she stands her ground and helps protect Jamie and his friends. Once the strength to fly returns to her, the fairies quickly help the children of the world remember their memories of childhood, thus giving her more strength to help fight. For all the trouble he caused, Tooth gives Pitch a quarter once he's weakened. Questioning it, he looks to her only to get her fist in his face that knocked out one of his teeth and proclaimed that the punch was for her fairies.
Jack is sworn in as a Guardian and her delight is shown with her hug to him and together they remain to help the children of the world and protect them but in turn, the children are their guardians as they believe in them.
Character Personality: Tooth is many things. She can be a kind and caring by nature but she can also be a bit of a spazz which is seen when she continuously tries to peek at Jack's teeth upon their first meeting. She seems to have the thrive of a hummingbird, which she is modeled after, and tends to talk fast when excited. Tooth enjoys the happiness her and her fairies bring and sometimes can get over excited over little things that have to do with teeth or the Children she guards.
With the playful comes the duty she's been given. Tooth defends and protects the children of the world by guarding their memories. The memories are kept within the teeth of a child and because of such, she makes sure to keep them locked away safe and sound for each individual child. Tooth, like the others, were chosen by the Man in the Moon to fulfill their duties as a guardian and as such, she seems to take her duty to heart. She collects the teeth, saves them and cares for them as if the memories inside were her own to safe guard.
After Pitch took the teeth from her palace, she's seen in a more calmer state. Not only does she care for the teeth but the fairies that assist her with her duties. Each one is a representation of her, given there are lots more children in the world and more growing every day, and each she treats like her child. This shows the nurturing side of her that comes with the responsibility beheld unto her. This could also be because of her past life.
Tooth is quoted to say "We were all someone before we were chosen". The movie doesn't explain, but in her past life, Tooth was a Queen in a region thought to be South East Asia. So while there is a playful side to her, there is, in her heart, a Queen that knows the value of protecting those around her and defending those she fights alongside with. Should she need to take up arms, she would as long as she can protect those around here. Of the guardians, she possibly is the one, next to North, to make friends easier than most but has just a little bit of a problem with personal space. It's by no mean, malicious but she's just generally curious about people and their teeth and brushing habits.
Powers and Abilities: With obvious wings, Tooth's abilities aren't limited to just flight. There are a number of things the Fairy knows.
-Multilingual: Tooth has the ability to know every language on Earth. This helps her communicate with children and the divisions around the world that help her gather teeth. This is seen when she was in Europe and a Mouse was collecting teeth for her. When Baby Tooth attacked, she calmed her little friend by saying he was part of the European Division which, holds merit of truth to Folklore. Most European and Mexico have stories of little mice that take the teeth when left under their pillows, not fairies.
-Flight: The character of the Tooth Fairy was modeled after a humanoid hummingbird. Her wings are not feathered like her body; instead, she has fairy like wings that glisten rainbow like colors in the light. When flying, they seem to just be wisps of pink behind her. She's a fast flyer, just like a hummingbird, and can possibly reach places faster than any of the other guardians.
-The ability to make copies of herself: These are limited however, to tiny little hummingbird like fairies that help Tooth collect the teeth of the children of the world. Each of her little fairies are apart of her heart and soul. When the fairies are seen slightly infatuated with Jack, it's rumored to be a bit of an insight to her own affections and child-like crush on Jack Frost.
-Though it is not seen in the movie, Tooth is a skilled sword fighter. However, in the movie, Tooth seemed to favor her wings as blades with how fast she was able to fly. She not only used them as weapons but shields from danger against her friends.
-She has the ability to recall children's teeth so when they are lost, they can have their memories back of younger and happier days. The only time this wasn't an option was when Pitch stole all the teeth from her palace. Upon the return of the teeth, she's guarded them and continued to give joy to children through precious memories.
-Creature communication: Through her folklore in the books and partially seen in the movie, Tooth can communicate with nature and the creatures around her. A skill that probably won't be put in too much effect in The Wake.

Network: Wake..Wake?! Sandy, is this some kind of joke you're pulling over on me? You know I have important duties to do and there's no time for sleep! [She's not too mad but it is a bit frustrating that she might of fallen asleep]
What's going on anyways?! Where's Baby Tooth and the other fairies? They've been assigned their sectors but I can't seem to be able to see just where that is. Is this really some kind of joke because if it is, I'm not laughing you guys. Just because you get one time a year to prepare doesn't mean the rest of us have that kind of luxury...! [She's turning from right to left, left to right and spinning about with feathers puffing in her worry.]
Hello? Hello~o~o? Could someone please point me in the direction of the exit of this dream and or place? There's still more important things to do and I can't exactly afford a vacation!
Third Person: Work Work Work. That's what everything she had on her mind and nothing more. Then again it was much easier with a job that she loved rather than a job that was given once a nice like some of the others. Despite the hectic hours, Tooth relished in the memories she had been able to keep for the children around the world.
To and fro, she flew back and forth in her palace while giggling and inspecting every tooth that came her way via her fairies. "Isn't this the cutest little tooth?!" She exclaimed and held it up in joy as it glistened in the sunlight that beamed through the fixture of her palace.
"Quick quick, put this in her collection! Can you believe she's already lost this many? She's growing so fast!" Another bright smile and the fairy took off to put the tooth with the collection. It was another memory saved and guarded by her. She felt honored with each and every tooth that came her way and for the children who believed in and waited for her or her fairies to leave them gifts.
That made her think back to the ordeal with Pitch coming back. Jack becoming a guardian and everyone finally getting along to the best of their ability. A soft smile graced her lips as the world around her seemed to slow down for just the time of her memory.
Once she snapped out of her, her feathers plumed and fluffed up to show her embarrassment as her fairies looked on and awaited her commands to the sectors. She cleared her throat and smoothed the feather like crown on her head. Her wings stretched and she zipped out of the palace. "Come on!" She smiled brightly to the usual three Baby Tooth's that hung around her. "The children are counting on us. I can't wait to finally get back out there myself with you, girls!"
